On last year, H-E-B introduced and exciting program called Primo Picks: “Quest for Texas Best”, which was an awesome opportunity for local, small and minority food and beverage suppliers to have their items considered for H-E-B shelves. As if that wasn’t enough, the top 25 finalist had a chance to win substantial prize money for finishing in the top four. I’m happy to say that many of the winners, finalists and entrants’ products have been placed on H-E-B shelves today and are building sales momentum.
Because the program was so well received, we are bringing it back for a second year. The open solicitation for product ideas will take place February 25th through April 14th , 2015. Interested food and beverage suppliers will have a chance to use our online portal to submit their exciting product and creative ideas. Similar to last year, H-E-B Business Development Managers will cull through the entrants to find the top 25 finalist. The top 25 finalist will present to a panel of judges, who determine the Grand, 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners, “Show Me The Money”. The dates of the for the panel showcase is slated for late summer during the month of August.
